ACE Camp is an exciting summer camp for high school students interested in exploring aviation as a career or hobby. June 8-12, 2020. 9:00 am-4:00 pm each day. Camp is held at Louisiana Regional Airport, 6255 Airport Industrial Blvd. Gonzales, LA
ACE Camp is an introduction to the Principles of Flight, Parts of an Airplane, Weather, Flight Planning, Radio Communications and Airport Design giving participants a jump start towards passing the private pilot exam.
ACE Camp participants will enjoy hands-on STEM related activities while learning to pre-flight an airplane, decode weather, observe how weather impacts flight, make a flight plan and build a model airport.
ACE Camp Instructors are experienced pilots ranging from Private Pilot to Commercial and Airline Transport Pilots all active members of the NOLA99s.
Lunch hour guest speakers from across the aviation industry will share the highlights/lowlights and opportunities in their field. Commercial to Airline Pilots, Mechanics, Air Traffic Controllers, Airport Directors and Engineers.
The registration fee of $250 is all inclusive of camp material, camp T-shirt, lunches and snacks as well as an orientation flight (weather, aircraft, and pilot dependent). Students may be asked to arrive early or stay later to accommodate flights in good weather.
